US Civil War Ninth Corps Badge Named to Lt. E. T. Case
8/18/2016 - Firearms and Accoutrements: Live Salesroom Auction
This is a wartime 9th Corps badge named to Lt. Ervin T. Case, Co. K, 9th New Hampshire Vols.. This badge was given prior to the promotion to Captain in 1864. Finely engraved Ninth Corps badges show up only occasionally. Post war Mr. Case wrote the book "The Battle of the Mine" his units exploits at the battle of the crater.

Condition:  
Medal is no longer attached to the ribbon bar though both pieces are present. Medal is housed in a homemade frame made in the last twenty years.
