Silvio P. Zoratti (Italian-American, 1896-1992). A folk art hardwood carving of a an alert chipmunk by Ohio artist Zoratti, stamped Made by / Silvio P. Zoratti / 1965 / Chipmunk Up Stump on underside of base; ht. 10.5 in.

This carving was purchased by the consignor at the Art and Antique Auction of Fine Folk Art, Outsider Art, Black Americana, Ceramics and Toys conducted by German Village Decorative Arts on December 10, 1994. The piece is mentioned in Antique Week, January 2, 1995. The original article is included in this lot.


Condition:  
Age cracks to back and base. A few small specks of white paint to surface.
