Pair of French Flintlock Officer's Holster Pistols
4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
.570 bore diameter, 9" tapered octagonal-to-round barrels, Barrels have a pattern of
fluer de lis;
gilt on the tang on top of barrels. Brass furniture finished in gilt. Sideplate with military motif. Raised carving around the trigguards behind the rear ferule, behind the tang. Molding along the ramrod channel. Silver wire work behind the carving on the tang. Walnut stocks.
Condition:
Barrels and locks have been refinish. Barrels have been reblued, locks have been re-case colored. Very sharp and crisp lines. Stock and furniture has had added coat of glossy finish.
