Mexican Rose Appliqué Quilt
4/12/2014 - Americana: Live Salesroom Auction
American (Berlin, Ohio), late 19th-early 20th century, featuring nine appliqué Mexican rose patterns in red, green and mustard fabric on white ground with square-filled feathered wreath stitching, having a yellow inner border with diamond and rope stitching, an outer white border with chevron stitching and red sawtooth binding; 83.25 x 85 in.
Note: According to the consignor's records, this quilt may be a 1920s copy of a design that was popular in the 1860s.

Condition:
Great condition. Some chalk pattern marks visible on front. Mild staining to edges and creases. One section of reverse in lighter fabric but does not appear to be later.
