.44 caliber.  Has an old tag attached which reads""FROM Pony Express station at Shelton in the banks of the river. Found while digging fish worms from Shelton, Neb.  Remington Army Model. C. L. Robb" on the front and "The way [weigh] station was on the bank of the river when this was found.  Have Sword (?) with gun found ther [there]."
