American, 19th century. A pieced quilt featuring ocean waves pattern in four rows of brown and white triangles, framed by two sawtooth borders in brown and having two sections of wave pattern in red fabric, creating modified "eyes of God;" 75.75 x 66 in.
Provenance:
Property from a Cincinnati, OH Collector
Condition:
8 sawteeth of outer border in red rather than brown fabric. Moderate scattered staining, front and back, particularly to binding.
