"Perry" Percussion Plains Rifle
4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
.52 caliber, heavy 26" octagonal barrel, S/N 518.  Markings on top of frame "Perry Patent Arn. Co., Newark, N.J., 1855." Barrel has the original buckhorn sight. Sight at breech is 1.125" and 1" at muzzle. Walnut stock with German silver escutcheons and pewter tip.

Condition:  
Barrel retains 90% of original blue, turning plum with very sharp and crisp edges. The action has very sharp lines with most of the finish turning to a brown patina. Markings are sharp and crisp. Stock and forearm retains 95% or original varnish.  Stock has minor nicks and dings. Overall very good.
