Percussion Half-Stock Sporting Rifle
4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
.44 caliber smooth bore, 42.25" barrel length.  Markings on front lock "H. Elwell Warranted."  Markings on top of barrel "W * S."  Brown barrel hammer and lock. Brass trigger guard. Pewter cap and maple stock.  Two metal ferules with ramrod.

Condition:  
Wood has artificial striping. Stock retains most of the original finish. Brown on barrel, hammer and lock. Brass has a brown patina on brass triggerguard and buttplate.  Stock has a crack through the toe. Overall condition is very good.
