Large Bowie Knife
4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
17" clip point blade, 2" width. "S"-shaped iron cross guard. The handle is unusual in being three pieces of wood sandwiched together. Overall 24.5" length. Coffin-shaped pommel; handle is of dark oak.
Condition:
Blade is dark patina mixing with pitting. Handle shows use with two cracks, one on each side from the guard up through the second handle pin. Two large nicks in the blade, probably from use.
