Western Shaker Chamber Stand in Walnut

American (probably Ohio, Union Village), 1850s. A chamber stand in walnut, having a gallery back, a lift top opening to reveal an interior shelf with a divider, over a paneled door, on turned feet; ht. 28.5, wd. 20, dp. 25 in. Walnut was the preferred wood of Union Village furniture makers. This is a fine example of Shaker craftsmanship.
