Bowie Knife by James Rodgers

9" x 1.5" heavy spear point blade, overall 13.5",  6" false edge. Marked on the blade near the ricasso James Rodgers, Celebrated, maker, Sheffield, deeply stamped in an oval cast steel bowie knife.  German silver guard and lined with German silver; German silver pommel and two-piece rosewood grips with German silver escutcheons and pins. Embossed leather scabbard with German silver tip and throat.

Condition:  
Blade has been sharpened long ago with some black staining mixed with some light pitting. Wood handle has two light cracks. Overall the knife is excellent, and would make a great addition to a Bowie knife collection.
