Rare USS Indian Scout Sword by Horstman & Sons
4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
ca 1880-1890. 26" spear point blade with etched panels of floral designs. Marked near the crossguard Horstman & Sons Philadelphia. Leather scabbard with brass fittings.  On the throat of the brass band just below the belt hook is engraved USS- Ft Huachuca - AT.  Two books accompany this sword:  Wolves for the Blue Soldiers- Indian Scouts with the U.S. Army 1860-1890 by J.P. Langelier.
