Springfield Model 1866 2nd Allen Rifle

.50-70 caliber, 40" barrel, Marked on the top of breech
1866
with eagle. Lockplate marked with eagle and
U.S. Springfield
. Walnut stock with crisp inspector's cartouche
HSH
complete with proper 50-70 Bayonet and scabbard. Also 3rd type Indian War Service Metal and ribbon.
Condition:
Barrel still retains all of the original burnished bright finish with some staining cause from dried Cosmolene. Rear three-leaf sight retains all of the original black finish. Breechblock retains 98% of the original black finish. Behind the breechblock on the left side of breech is the mint eagle mark. Lock and hammer still retain all of the bright case harden colors. Stock is mint with some minor scratches, still retaining the excellent open-grained look with mint cartouche. Bayonet is excellent with excellent scabbard. Metal is excellent. Overall this firearm is in untouched original condition.
