Cased Percussion English Shotgun by H. Piper
4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
15 gauge, 28" barrels. Marked on the top of rib Henry Piper.  Engraved forward-action locks in very fine banknote-style scrolls. In a banner on the forward part of lock marked H. Piper.  Barrels finished in a Damascus pattern; case colored locks; highly blued engraved triggerguard.  Finely figured walnut stock with very fine checkered wrist.  Case made of oak with label, R.B. Rodda Co, Gun Makers, Picadilly London. Cased with shot flask, powder flask, mainspring vise, oiler, wad cutter, 15 gauge mold for balls, Japanned tin box of Joyce's Patent waterproof primers.  Also original paper advertisement for Joyce Primers. Cased is lined in green wool.

Condition:  
Barrels retain 98% of the original brown finish. Locks retain 98% of the case colors. Stock is outstanding retaining all of the original varnished finish. Case is excellent inside and out. This is a very fine English percussion shotgun.
