Original Cased Percussion Target Rifle by Hillard
4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
.478 bore diameter, 29" barrel, 1.625" across the flats. False muzzle, brass loader. Engraved back-action Lock. Fancy triggerguard with spurs. Double-set triggers. Long tube sight with cross hairs. Fancy walnut stock. Rifle is cased in an original coffin-shaped oak box with bench rest, mold and cleaning rod.
Condition:
Barrel is very sharp with light brown patina. Action and lock have 90% of the original case colors. Buttplate has some colors in the protected areas the rest is fading to a nice patina. Stock is excellent, bore is excellent. A very fine cased Hillard target rifle. Rifle weighs 25 pounds.
