Percussion German Schuetzen Rifle by J. Peter in ULM
4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
.568 bore diameter, 36" octagonal flared barrel. Marked on top of barrel I. Peter in Ulm. Forward action engraved lock marked in an oval in sliver I. Peter In Ulm. Front hood sight; rear barrel sight, long with nice finial and engraved.  Rear tang sight is lollipop-style with engraved long elevation study. Engraved breech, sideplate with winged screw for easy takedown, engraved buttplate finial with ball mounted on the top of buttplate. Double-set triggers, fancy finger looped triggerguard. Finely figured walnut stock checkered in the wrist and fore end with horn tip, German silver escutcheons.

Condition:  
Barrel is very sharp and crisp with 70% of the brown finish. Lock and hammer have some case colors in the protected areas. Sideplate retains 98% of the blue finish. Buttplate retains a nice brown patina. Stock is excellent. Bore has been greased to protect the rifling. Bore is excellent.
