Percussion Target Rifle by J.O. Robson, Buffalo, New York
4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
,528 bore diameter, 33" heavy octagonal bore, 1.50" across the flats of barrel. Dove tail for front sight, long tube sight mounted on the barrel. Marked on the left flat near the breech J.O. Robson, 908,  Buffalo New York. Cast steel. Engraved back-action lock and hammer. Engraved frame and tang. Nickel-plated brass triggerguard. Double-set triggers. Engraved Iron buttplate and toeplate.  Checkered walnut stock. Has the original bench rest, false muzzle and brass loader. Rifle weighs 35 pounds. Often referred to as a slug rifle.

Condition:  
Barrel retains most of the original brown finish. Some wear to the high edges. Frame and back action lock are a very sharp and crisp with a grey to blue look. Stock retains most of the original varnish finish. Tube sight optics are clear with a little bubbling. Bore is excellent.
