4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
Lot of 5: Anthony CDV of Brig. Gen. Joshua B. Howell, Col. 85th PA; led a brigade against Ft. Wagner and Bermuda Hundred where he distinguished himself and died from injuries sustained in horse accident. Brady view of Maj. Gen. Andrew A. Humphreys '27; three wartime brevets including Gettysburg, where he gallantly led a division in the 3rd Corps that "fought grimly to redeem Sickles' ill-advised" advance. Brady/Anthony carte of Maj. Gen. David Hunter '18; twice brevetted scourge of the Valley, enthusiastically presided over trial of Lincoln conspirators. Plus Brady/Anthony CDVs of Joseph Holt and Joseph Hooker.

Holt CDV, top right and left corners clipped. Howell CDV has lightened, smudge in top left area of carte. Humphreys CDV, light, scattered spotting and staining, bumped corners. Hunter CDV, trimmed along bottom edge.
