Mulligan in civilian dress, autographed beneath portrait with dedication, 23rd Illinois Inf., received single brevet, DOW at Winchester, VA, 7/26/64. Anonymous carte of Col. Embury D. Osband as a Major, with later pencil ID on verso, 4th Illinois Cav. and 3rd Cav. USCT, received single brevet.
