Bvt. Maj. Gen. George Nelson Macy, Col. 20th Massachusetts, Provost Marshal General of the Army of the Potomac, WIA at least three times, July 3, 1863 at the Battle of Gettysburg, resulting in amputation of his left arm, May 6, 1864 at the Battle of the Wilderness, and Aug. 14 1864 at Deep Bottom Run, received two brevets; carte uncredited.
