Model 1866 Springfield 2nd Allen Rifle
4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
.50-70 caliber, 40" barrel. Breechblock marked and an eagle. Lockplate dated 1864 with eagle and marked US Springfield. Walnut stock with three barrel bands.  Correct single-eye leather sling. 

Condition:  
This is a very crisp '66 rifle with nice blue on the breechblock and the rest is sharp and crisp with mottled grey look. Stock with nice cartouche "HTH" and large "N" behind triggerguard. Excellent bore.
