American, made by Frank Martin of Westphalia, Michigan, mid 19th century. An inlaid two-piece chest of drawers in cherry, the upper section with two aligned drawers having heart shaped inlays, the lower section with three drawers having checkerboard inlays, rising on ogee bracket feet, PLUS two small gallery panels with inlaid hearts, possibly by the same maker but not belonging to this chest; ht. 50.25, wd. 45.5, dp. 20 in.
