Model 1867 Springfield Cadet Rifle

50-70 caliber, 33" round barrel with eagle marked on the left side of breech, top of breech marked
1866
(eagle). Lockplate dated
1867
in the rear. Correct two-leaf rear barrel sight. Correct very rare ramrod with large cannelure head and four grooves cut in the bottom for patches; also comes to within a .25" of the walnut stock.
Condition:
Barrel and action are grey-to-brown mixing with some pitting. Lockplate and hammer are a nice dark brown. Stock is excellent for an 1867 Cadet with some nicks and dings. Bore will clean to better. One of the great rarities of collecting martial arms.
