Model 1817 Common Rifle by N. Starr
4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
.54 caliber, 36" round barrel. Marked at the breech in three lines US, JDb, P in a circle.  Tang dated 1843.  Lockplate marked N.Starr under the percussion bolster.  Walnut stock.

Condition:  
All parts have a dark brown patina. Stock has been cleaned with very sharp edges.  Overall the rifle has a nice even look.
