Sharps Model 1859 Rifle

.52 caliber, 36" barrel. S/N
36651.
Barrel fitted for saber bayonet with a lug on the under side of barrel. Patchbox with walnut buttstock and longer forearm to accommodate the longer barrel. Only 600 produced in the serial range of 36,000-37,000. Comes with rare type II Brass handle Saber Bayonet. Seldom encountered.
Condition:
Excellent overall, retaining most of the very high blue finish, with some of the finish flaking. Stock and forearm in very good condition. This is a very rare Civil War rifle. Seldom seen and always with this type of blue finish. Bayonet is very good with excellent scabbard.
