4/12/2014 - Americana: Live Salesroom Auction
American, late 19th century. A Union shield frame, decorated with stars and stripes in shades of red, white, blue and gold, having an oval aperture in the center inset with a later mirror, PLUS a lap board of rectangular form with rounded corners and a demilune cutout on one side, one side painted with a U.S. shield against a black ground with a gold border, the other side with a pencil drawn measuring tape against an unpainted ground; frame ht. 23.25, wd. 17.75 in.

Condition:
Some surface wear and paint loss. Back of frame with small veneer crack near upper right corner.
