Historical Staffordshire Plates of American Interest

English, 19th century. An assembled group of historical blue-transfer decorated Staffordshire plates, the first plate depicting the Landing of Gen. Lafayette, the second plate with allegorical figures of America and Independence, both undersides impressed with a crown surrounded by Clews Warranted Staffordshire. Lot also includes a soup plate depicting La Grange The Residence of the Marquis La Fayette, the underside impressed with an eagle surrounded by Semi China / E. Wood & Sons / Burslem / Warranted, having an impressed L and titled in blue with a 3 in blue off to the side; largest dia. 10.25 in.

Condition:  
Some crazing. Surface with light wear and scratches. America and Independence plate with a small chip on rim and a small glaze loss mark near rim on underside.
