Snuff Box and a Japanned Box With Soldier Motifs

American, 19th century. Two boxes, one an oval metal snuff box having a hinged lid with a battlefield scene of one soldier burying another, and the other a japanned box with a removable lid, the lid having a painted scene of plants and tombstones and the inscription Honor the Brave, the snuff box is stamped Patd. Jan. 24, 1860 /  C. Parker (surmounted by a star) just below the thumblift ; longest lg. 6 in.
