Model 1863 Type I Springfield Rifled-Musket
4/30/2014 - Firearms and Militaria: Live Salesroom Auction
.58 caliber, 40" barrel dated 1863 with
V P
and eagle. Three-leaf rear barrel sight. Three barrel bands with walnut stock.
Condition:
Barrel is grey with pitting around the percussion bolster. Bands have nice bright finish. Lock and hammer with light brown patina. Stock has a used look with some nicks and dings. A dim cartouche. Bore is fair will clean to very good.
