Lot 14

Repro Rifle Scabbard for .45-70 Carbine Made by Hank Kluin of Burgess & Co.
2/28/2013 - World at War: Live Salesroom Auction
This full-length one-of-a-kind scabbard is an exact copy of the cavalry scabbard of 1892 made for the Krag carbine. It was also designed to take the Springfield .45-70 (.45-55) carbine as well. It is accurate down to the metal water drain at the bottom and the attaching straps.

Hank Kluin was the master leather smith and sole worker at Burgess & Co. Frank Burgess sold the company to Kluin some years ago, but when Hank  died in 2009, Burgess & Co. ceased to exist.
