Pinkerton's National Detective Agency Reward Broadside, 1907

Pinkerton broadside offering a $13,000 reward for the arrest of two men involved in a train robbery on the Great Northern Railway September 12, 1907. At 2:45am as the Oriental Limited was traveling through Flathead County, Montana, two stowaways entered the engine cab with revolvers and ordered the train stopped, whereupon they dynamited the safe of the express car but obtaining no money or valuables therefrom they stole from the United States Mail Car, four packages of registered mail, then ordered the engineer to extinguish the headlight and disappeared into the darkness. The total reward monies include bounties from Great Northern, the U.S. Mail, and Chubb & Sons Insurance, which offers an additional 10% of all value recovered. Police are advised that the "hold-ups" are likely to be found about the lower class gambling resorts and houses of prostitution. 11 x 17 in., 2pp on standard Pinkerton letterhead listing the names of managers and the locations of all 18 offices.

Fold lines, with minor separation in two places, and discoloration at extreme edges.
