[Civil War-CDV] Large Group of Twenty-Four Unidentified Ohio Civil War CDVs 
12/19/2011 - ONLINE American History Timed Auction
A mixed lot comprising 5 officers and 19 enlisted men, the majority with various Ohio back marks. Officers include one unknown staff grade (severely trimmed with rank straps obscured) having Cleveland imprint and four company grade portraits, none armed. One Lebanon, Ohio private bears a penciled name that appears to read “David Blass (or Bliss).” Two of the enlisted men have Coldwater and Niles, Michigan imprints while two more privates are have Iowa back marks. One carte with Cleveland imprint is an unusual side-by-side period copy shot of an older woman wearing bonnet next to her (deceased?) son, a private armed with musket, belted pistol and knife. Another is a post-war copy shot of an unidentified private with Bloomfield, Iowa back mark. Three of the enlisted men are damaged “Dead Letter” cartes.

Condition:  
CDVs show edge wear and heavy soiling, still Good except for the three damaged “Dead Letter” cartes.
