Portrait of A Detroit Michigan Musician
American, 19th century.  A black and white painting on paper of a man seated on the floor before a large couch, playing a bass drum, inscribed on verso  " (Indecipherable) Detroit August 17th, 1857." An additional note at the back of the frame reads: "Great grand father Laggatt. He was very fond of music, though not a musician." Unsigned. 4 x 3 in. (sight).
