U.S. Restored M-1885 McClellan Saddle and Accessories
This is an a original US McClellan saddle seat restored around 1980 to replicate the M-1885 pattern Cavalry saddle. The work was done by Hank Kluin of Burgess and Company, Red Bank, N.J. Hank passed away at an early age in 2009; he was considered the premier Cavalry equipment historian and leather smith. His items are truly tomorrow's museum pieces today. He made all the accessories for this saddle - the narrow gusset 1885 saddle bags, M-1887 carbine scabbard with brass throat, the picket rope and hardware, girth, all straps, poncho, feed bag and blue and gold saddle pad. The set is in perfect condition, has never (yet) been ridden, and is perfect for display, for living history or reenacting, or just riding.
